Project Description

A defunct office building within a saturated market, becomes a prime site for a residential building. With the site located within the burgeoning mixed-use community of Lincoln Harbor, Smart Growth planning is employed to offer the residents access to public transportation, passive and active recreational amenities. The location is a short trip to New York City and day-to-day life essentials are steps away, offering residents the ability to live, work, and play. The Landscape Architect was tasked with creating open space and recreation amenities for the building.

A waterfront experience like no other, stretching approximately 700 feet into the Hudson River with unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline, the building intentionally steps down to respect the nearby Palisades viewshed.  Three rooftop levels are designed to provide two intensive green roof amenity decks and one upper extensive green roof. Multiple gathering spaces and varying levels provide a host of locations for residents to experience the views. The combination of extensive and intensive landscape strategies has provided residents a successful open space experience.
