Project Description
Glassboro Town Square is the anchor for new dynamism happening downtown, on Rowan Boulevard and the hub of Glassboro’s Arts and Entertainment District. It serves as a bridge between the Rowan University and Glassboro’s downtown. It shows how an array of programmed spaces can be woven together into a cohesive park that inspires connection, expression and joy within a sustainable and enduring public place.
A public design process was led by Glassboro Partners, a public/private partnership. The process articulated requirements for flexible, secure, programmed areas within the 1.75-acre urban park. It had to be useful and playful for all ages without the use of traditional playground structures. It had to accommodate use in all seasons., The landscape architect led the design from schematic design through construction and is the Landscape Architect of Record.
