Project Description
Jesse Owens Playground is part of the Mayor’s Community Parks Initiative (CPI) that worked to bring park spaces to underserved communities through community engagement and sustainable design. The intent of the redesign was to transform the playground into a vibrant community recreation center for the surrounding area and two neighboring schools. The new playground is furnished with new play equipment, a splash pad, in-ground pool, game tables and benches, a painted running track, a synthetic turf field, and 3 athletic courts, set among lush plantings.
